In an old interview with Doug Lombardi by shacknews.com, it is speculated that episode 3 won't be released this year. Valve wants to go overboard this time by delivering a final(?) epic episode that once again redefines gaming, like HL2 did when it was released in 2004.

The interview speculates that more information would have been shown in the fall of 2008, but as most of us know by now, no information has been given.

Modern Warfare 2[4] (packaged as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2) is an upcoming first-person shooter video game developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. Officially announced on February 11, 2009,[5] the game is due for worldwide release on November 10, 2009.[6] It is the sixth installment of the Call of Duty series,[7] and the direct sequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, continuing along the same storyline.[5][8]

Black Mesa (previously known as Black Mesa: Source) is both a third-party total conversion mod from Half-Life 2 and remake of the 1998 video game Half-Life. The ultimate goal of the mod is to recreate the original Half-Life from the ground up, using the advanced capabilities of the Source engine to create a new and more engrossing in-game world with more varied, complex environments and more challenging, realistic gameplay. Black Mesa is projected to function with any Source engine game^[2] and will be available at no charge.^[3]
